TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE & PRIVATE LESSON SCHOLARSHIPS

The following criteria are not intended to discriminate against anyone who is in financial need. The Redhawk Band Booster Association, Inc. has limited funds for scholarships and must ensure that assistance and scholarships are awarded with the best interests for both the student AND the entire band program as a whole.
Students interested in financial assistance MUST complete this application in its entirety to be considered.
Students who are awarded financial assistance of any kind agree to abide by an expanded set of expectations including, but not limited to: acceptable amount of daily home practice as evidenced by satisfactory progress as determined by directors and the prescribed studio teacher; no unexcused absences from lessons; participation in ALL fundraising activities; academic eligibility in each class throughout the year; no discipline referrals or removal from any class or activity for disciplinary action; maintain an A/B average in each respective band class; student must participate in each UIL/TMEA audition and activity for which they qualify (all-state audition process, region and state solo contest, etc.); must attend all sectionals, rehearsals, concerts, and other scheduled performances.
Parents of students who receive financial assistance of any kind must volunteer a minimum of FOUR HOURS per semester (a total of EIGHT HOURS for the year) for the Liberty High School Band Booster Association, Inc..
At the discretion of the director(s), denomination of private lesson scholarship funds may be decreased or eliminated for lack of preparation, practice, or evidential work ethic. Either case will come with clear and timely notice of no less than one month.
Students who receive financial assistance for LESSONS for 9 weeks or more of a school year are hereby committing to their enrollment, participation, and membership in good standing in the band program for the ENTIRETY of the current school year. Students who receive financial assistance for lessons for 18 weeks or more of a school year are hereby committing to their enrollment, participation, and membership in good standing in the band program for the ENTIRETY of the current school year AND for the ENTIRETY of the following school year. If a student who has received financial assistance for lessons decides to quit band, parents are asked to make a donation to the general lesson scholarship fund in an amount no less than 75% of the accumulated scholarship award for the current school year. This scholarship award is an investment the band program is making in YOU (your child) and the potential of your (your child’s) future contribution to the success of the overall program.
Parents of students who receive financial assistance of any kind must be current member of the Redhawk Band Booster Association, Inc.
